Friends of Weaver (FOW) was founded in 1999 as a non-profit organization dedicated to acquiring, maintaining, improving, and updating technological resources at Jack L. Weaver Elementary School.

FOW provides support and resources to teachers and staff so they can provide a variety of learning opportunities enabling all students to be successful. FOW achieves this through various fundraising efforts throughout the year.

Our Future

Wednesday, August 15th between 4:00pm and 8:00pm

Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support Weaver Elementary. Come in to the Chipotle at 12359 Seal Beach Boulevard in Seal Beach on Wednesday, August 15th between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Bring this flyer, show it on your smartphone, or tell the cashier you're supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to Weaver Elementary.

Technology is constantly changing and presenting new opportunities for our children to excel in their education. It is our goal to harness these opportunities and integrate them into the learning environment at Weaver. Future goals include:

  • 2018 and beyond

    • Continuing to support a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics) lab in the Media Center

    • In 2016, Weaver became the first elementary school in the Los Alamitos Unified School District to utilize the Project Lead The Way (PLTW  - www.pltw.org) curriculum. Our goal is to continue to expand this program.

    • View the 2017-18 Curriculum Map for more information on PLTW and other Media Center instructional material.
